Is It About Followers?
I am a newbie on medium.com.
I published a book in 2009 and am now rewriting it in English.
And now and then, I may offer a column to (Christian) magazines, or write them regularly on my website.

Writing is in your blood, it comes from your heart, and you put your “soul and bliss” into it.
I am not concerned with followers!
I thought medium is meant to share our product from the pen with others and increase the chances of open doors to publish something somewhere.
But what have I ended up in now? Is it all about numbers and followers?
And wait a minute, I need to get to a hundred followers to be able to participate in something?
So it’s not about followers who find your pen fruits fascinating, and you are not going to follow others because you find their writings interesting, but your only interest is getting those coveted followers?!
I’m not taking part in this!
I paid for a year, but if this is the climate, I’ll be done with it in no time. Or, shall I stay and swim against the current?

I believe that what I write from my heart may be recognized and acknowledged by others.
And I’d rather have three followers who can fit into this category than 7,000 who are concerned with the numbers and not read what I write.
I want to keep the pureness of what was already born in my childhood, devouring books and turning my thoughts into words.
Not to become famous, not to get rich, or get 85K followers.
I have something to share that makes other people happy or recognize things I write because they have experienced it themselves. Or they find solutions to specific problems, for which they had not yet found a solution themselves. It is all about “sharing and caring.”
Have a nice “No manipulated-followers” day.
